Yeah, you can stack em. Cold is cool real early in the game for melee since you can slow your targets down with them. Keep in mind that this damage is strictly for melee. Later on in the game, though, they will not be of much use for even a melee style character. Max damage or attack rating charms will boost damage much better.
Having the tag Expansion Character means that the character has been created with the advantages of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. With the character creation you have the choice to create an Expansion Character or a normal character. All Druids and all Assassins are Expansion Characters. If you create a normal character, Lord of Destruction will behave as if the Expansion is not installed. A

Life/Mana steal only works with physical attacks, though you can acquire the mod "+X mana after each kill" on some items. What ever the percentage is, that's how much you get back from the attack. There's a 50% penalty on leech in Nightmare and a 50% Damage penalty in Hell, I believe so if you didn't catch the topic before, 24% is around the
